Our Story What We Do

Special Olympics BC offers youth, sport, and health programs for all ages giving athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to get active,  and strive for goals no matter what stage they are at in life. The year-round programs run by SOBC Locals in up to 18 sports and youth programs give athletes the chance to gain sport skills and improve their health while enjoying training that could take them to competitions at local, regional, national, and international levels. Our athletes experience joy and acceptance, cultivate friendships and self-confidence, and feel empowered to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

Our Programs How We Do It

Special Olympics BC provides year-round, high-quality sports programs and competitions for more than 4,600 athletes in 57 communities around the province, with the vital assistance of more than 3,900 trained, dedicated volunteers. We currently offer programs in Kelowna, Keremos, Penticton, Princeton, Summerland, and South Okanagan.
