Cops for Kids Charitable Foundation

We are a group of dedicated RCMP members and friends, committed to assisting children living within South Eastern British Columbia in medical, physical or traumatic crisis.

Our Impact Why We Exist

Many government programs, large charitable organizations, and extended health care benefits fall short, leaving families in crisis when their child is facing an illness, disability or traumatic event. Cops for Kids believes that with the ability to help, comes the responsibility to help. Families turn to Cops for Kids when there's nowhere else to turn. We review each request on an individual basis, and our goal is to say "yes" when everyone else says "no".

Our Story What We Do

We host fundraising events throughout the year to support the ongoing requests from families, with our signature event - the Cops for Kids Ride taking place each September.  Our team of 30 local RCMP and law enforcement officials cycle over 1,000km in 10 days around the region to raise much needed funds for families in their time of crisis.  Each member of our team must provide their own bike, volunteer & train on their own time, and raise a minimum of $2,000 in order to be a part of our tream. This important journey reminds our team how hard we must work to assist local children who need it most.

Our Programs How We Do It

We fundraise throughout the year to support ongoing requests from local families who require funding while receiving treatment outside their home community, medical equipment & supplies, specialized therapies, learning tools & mobility aids. Each request is reviewed by a volunteer committee, with supporting documentation required from health or learning professionals for validity.

What You Can Do

Families can not plan a crisis, and so our goal is to be there in their time of need to provide funding for the essential needs of their child.
